Trellis and Little Big deliver Chesterfield on the Go!

Trellis Technology Inc, and Little Big Business Solutions deliver first real-time community commerce app for the Chesterfield Chamber in Virginia.
As Chamber of Commerce groups look to deliver added value for the merchants in their community, the Chesterfield Chamber instantly recognized the value that Little Big and Trellis could deliver.  The trend of consumers and merchants are all moving towards mobile environments to interact with consumers. Chesterfield on the Go! now provides consumers one location for all of their merchant needs.  Consumers can now access merchants, locations, phone numbers, and even place real-time orders, reservations and deals all from one App!  In addition, consumers can also view their local news, events, and chamber information.  What separates the Chesterfield on the Go! from other apps is that the consumer experience extends right into the merchants physical location.  When an order is placed, reservation is made or offer is purchased, the merchant business console rings in the store to notify the business of the interaction.  The consumer is then notified in real time about the status of the order.

Local merchants are always struggling with implementing the right marketing strategies, and are looking to reach their customer on the right medium.  With Chesterfield On the Go! member merchants now reciece a  free mobile listing on the App, and can upgrade to premium listings (logo, colors, and website) along with upgrades for ordering, events, reservations, and offers/ deals.  These modules allow merchants to pick and chose the right marketing message, and services for their customers.  All, while connecting in the new mobile paradigm.

With Chesterfield on the Go!, consumers in Chesterfield, now have one mobile App to store all their credit cards,  local offers, as well as one user name, and password to interact with ALL their local merchants!

Trellis Use Case - Local Sports Organization

The Trellis Real-Time Community Platform allows local sports organizations to instantly create a mobile and web platform to accept and manage apparel orders as well as run events and accept electronic payments.  As part of the local community, sports organizations can easily tap into the consumer buying power by offering its goods and programs on the same app as all the other local merchants.  This provides a very easy way for users to click, order and pay for events and apparel.

As you can see, the consumer just clicks Recreation, then Sparta Baseball and easily clicks the items or events they want to purchase.

The Sports Club, can now easily manage their inventory, and the amounts are automatically deducted when items are purchased.

Club officials can manage or manually input unit amounts.  This task is typically done manually today with officials looking through boxes in their garage to determine if they have available quantities.

Orders are received at any time, and alerts are sent to the league officials notifying them they have an order on the platform. Payments are taken via credit card, and deposited directly into the organizations bank account.  Weekly and Monthly reports are provided to keep track of all the online events and apparel orders.

The Trellis Platform also allows for integration with your existing website.

In the photo above, Sparta LL placed a custom link provided by Trellis for "Shop More".  When this link is clicked, it will take the user to the Sparta Little League home page on Trellis and allow for integrated ordering of apparel, events or any other items.

The Trellis Real-Time Community Platform makes it easy for local sports organizations to set up a mobile and web presence; accept online orders and pay for events all on a mobile device.

Trellis  eCommerce Ordering Modes

The Trellis Real-Time Community Platform allows merchants two different types of ordering modes.  Based on the needs of the merchant, Trellis will allow for both Real-Time human confirmation, and  Traditional on-line ordering.

  • Real-Time Confirmation:  Orders are placed through the mobile app or internet.  Orders are received on the merchant portal and then responded to in real-time.  Thus providing the consumer with real-time feedback on the order status, confirmation, and pick up or delivery time.
  • Traditional On-line ordering; Orders are placed online, and an automated / computer response is provided.  Merchant is alerted of an order, and can log into the Business console to get the details of the order and reply at their convenience.
Here is a typical example of the Real-time Confirmation with a local food and beverage merchant.

Consumer App on Iphone or Android

Here is a standard ordering process with the consumer app on a mobile device.  The consumer selects their items, fills the cart, adds a digital coupon, and submits the order.

                                                Real-time Business Console

On the Merchant Portal, the merchant receives the order, the iPad or computer rings in the store, and an attendant responds in real-time.  They can then add a status note for pick up time.  If the order is not responded to within 30 seconds, another alarm sounds.  If not responded to in 2 minutes, a text message is sent to the merchant to notify them of the pending order.

Consumer view with real-time update

Here the consumer is notified in real-time that the order is received, and will be ready for pick up in 20 minutes.

Traditional Ordering work-flow

The consumer work-flow is the same, however the auto confirmation messages lets the consumer know the order is received, and the merchant will get back to them with fulfillment instructions.  An alert is sent to the merchant offline, via text message, that they have a new order.  The merchant can then login to their merchant portal at their convenience to respond and provide fulfillment instructions.

Trellis Launches As First Real-Time Community Commerce Platform - Connecting Consumers with Local Businesses and Community Services

Mobile and Web Accessible App Inspires and Facilitates “Shop Local First”

New York, NY (November 19, 2013) – Trellis Technology, Inc. today announced the launch of their real-time community commerce platform, designed from the ground-up to enable and encourage residents to “shop local first.

Trellis combines local community content and e-commerce for a broad array of businesses and organizations - all in one easy to use mobile application(app).  Trellis’s most distinctive feature is the real-time interaction it offers with local merchants.  As customers and merchants place and confirm an order, or ask and answer questions, both sides of the transaction see exactly what's being requested - instantly via the app.  (There’s no waiting for emails to go through or faxes to send.)  This direct and immediate feedback between businesses and their customers enables Trellis to provide a compelling alternative to the age-old small business standard of telephone ordering.  Trellis also supports traditional online ordering of goods and services.  This support for both interactive and non-interactive modes enables Trellis to accommodate a wide range of business types and use cases across the community.

Similar to how Amazon conveniently sells a myriad of physical merchandise on their website, Trellis gives consumers a single app to access their community’s services: restaurants, salons, fitness centers, repair shops, as well as organizations like youth sports, beach clubs, and other local groups that benefit from a modern online presence.

For local business owners, the Trellis platform delivers increased profitability and business growth by extending customer reach and helping to ensure customer satisfaction and loyalty.  For the overall community, Trellis keeps more dollars in the local economy: the local business base thrives, and tax dollars stay close to home to support town services.

“For me, Trellis was an easy decision,” said Bill Elig, Owner, Villa Capri 2..  “I use them to host my website that customers find via Google searches and Google Places. My website includes an Order Now button that brings customers to my online menu which allows them to submit orders to my in-store iPad running the Trellis platform. The iPad rings immediately just like the phone so I can confirm directly back to the customer the status of their order.  Additionally, my store is accessible from the Sparta, NJ community site. This is the best of all worlds, where I can manage an integrated web/mobile presence and use the same system to participate in the community based application where I can promote my business with coupons and deals.”

“With the Trellis app, users get a consolidated view of their community’s content such as events and news, along with access to their local businesses purchasing options. They can then easily place an order, make a reservation, or schedule an appointment,” said Kevin Kowalski, President, Trellis Technology.  “Most solutions existing today focus primarily on just content or just commerce. In contrast, we believe that combining local content with the ability to interact and transact with local merchants is a much more useful application for the local consumer.”
